Abstract:
To provide a formation method of a ceramic composite film using an electrophoretic deposition method, in which film defects of the acquired ceramic composite film are effectively suppressed, and to provide a production method of a functional material, the surface of which is coated using the formation method.SOLUTION: A formation method of a ceramic composite film using an electrophoretic deposition method includes: dripping or injecting a suspension, in which ceramic particles are dispersed in an organic solvent including metal alkoxides, into an alcohol with a voltage applied; causing hydrolysis reaction and polycondensation reaction of the metal alkoxides in a process of electrophoresis and deposition of the suspension in the alcohol with the voltage applied; and depositing a ceramic composite including the ceramic particles and a metal oxide matrix filling the gaps of the ceramic particles on the surface of a to-be-processed object arranged in the alcohol with the voltage applied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
