Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of scrap when a simple vessel is formed, by pressing a thermoplastic resin sheet stock that has been heated to or above the melting point between two heated pressing plates with planar pressing surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: The thermoplastic resin sheet stock 2 that has an arbitrary shape and has been heated to or above the melting point is pressed between the two pressing plates 3 with smooth pressing surfaces that have been heated to a temperature in the range of from the softening point of the sheet 2 to the temperature of the sheet 2 so that the outer sides of the sheet 2 is expanded thereby deforming the sheet into a circular sheet 1.
