Abstract:
To provide a method for forming a coating film showing different hues when illuminated with light and when shadowed and a coated article.
In the method for forming the coating film different in hue appearance by outdoor daylight, a coherent clear coating film containing a flaky interference pigment of a cholesteric liquid crystal polymer 1-100 μm in average long diameter and 2-15 μm in thickness in an amount of 0.1-20 mass% of the resin solid content in the coating is formed on the article to be coated having a plating gloss. The coated article and an aluminum wheel are formed by the forming method.
