Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate connection and arrangement of the connecting head by forming a swell-out wall by inwardly crooking an expanded diameter part in which a reinforcing ring is inserted to make the whole of the connecting part compact.
CONSTITUTION: A SOROBAN-DAMA (bead of abacus) shape reinforcing ring 3 is fitted in the annular notched part 6' at the tip end of a tube expanding punch 6 whose outside diameter is nearly equal to the outside diameter of ring 3 and the tube body 2 of another tube is fixed by a chuck 7 with a space from its end in the coaxial position with the punch 6. The end part of the tube body 2 is expanded by inserting the punch 6 in the tube body 2 and the reinforcing ring 3 is inserted by pressing. The punch 6 is drawn out and the ring 3 is left in the tube body 2. The diameter expansion part of tube body 2 is worked by a punch 8 having a working part 8' and the swell-out wall 2' provided with the reinforcing ring 3 inside of it is formed. Thus, production cost is reduced by decreased material and working man-hour, etc., as the results of small-sized structural parts.
