To develop a method to supply coarse dust component to a continuous material of tobacco while preventing the accumulation of fine dust and to provide an apparatus for performing the method.

Dust is separated into a coarse fraction and a fine fraction, the coarse fraction is supplied to a continuous material of tobacco and the fine fraction is supplied to a central dust-removing part. The apparatus for performing the method is provided with at least one 2nd vacuum chamber 28, 29 for applying negative pressure to the 2nd part opposite to the continuous tobacco material 43, 44 of the continuous material conveyors 7, 8 in a region to supply the removed dust 47 to the continuous material conveyors 7, 8. A 2nd suction means 35 is connected to the vacuum chamber to suck the air flowing into the 2nd vacuum chambers 28, 29 through the continuous material conveyors.
