Abstract:

To provide a method for easily forming a highly water repellent surface having a finely asperity structure.

The method for forming a highly water repellent surface involves applying a metal oxide fine particle-dispersion type mixture to the substrate surface by a spin coating method, wherein the metal oxide fine particle-dispersion type mixture contains surface-treated metal oxide fine particles with water repellency and has a primary particle diameter in a range of 10 nm to 50 nm, a drying oil, and a volatile solvent at a ratio of 60 to 80% by weight of the surface-treated metal oxide fine particles with water repellency in the weight of the metal oxide fine particle-dispersion type mixture excluding the weight of the volatile organic solvent.
