Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable an image to be formed by low surface electrostatic charged potential and low developing bias potential by using specified developer and executing developing by impressing a higher developing bias voltage than the potential of a low potential part.
CONSTITUTION: The surface potential of an exposure part is selectively lowered because the image is exposed and an electrostatic latent image consisting of the low potential part and the high potential part is formed. At this time a potential difference between the low potential part and the high potential part is set to be ≤300V. When the developing is executed, the bias voltage (the potential of a developing sleeve 57) is set to be higher than the low potential part of the electrostatic latent image. Besides, it is preferable that it is set to be the voltage between the low potential part and the high potential part of the electrostatic latent image. Then, the developer 91 which includes an electrical conductive magnetic carrier whose average grain size is 25-40μma and whose specific surface area is 0.03-2m2/g and whose volume resistivity is set to be within the range of 102-107Ω'cm is used. It is preferable that insulating magnetic toner is used as toner.
