PURPOSE: To obtain a metal plate on which a complicated pattern excellent in originality is formed.
CONSTITUTION: A press mold 20 formed with a plural number of protrusion 22 is arranged with a prescribed pattern along the transportation path of a plate material 10. When the plate material 10 is intermittently fed, its stroke is set as nonintegral multiple of the pitch of the protrusion pattern. The die 20 can be moved in the plate-width direction in accordance with the intermittent feeding of the plate material 10. In this case, the moving stroke of the press mold 20 is desirably set as nonintegral multiple of the pitch of the protrusion pattern. Consequently, by adjusting a positional deviation concerning the transporting direction and the plate-width direction of the press mold 20 against the plate material 10 between the last press-printing and this press-printing, a complicated and irregular pattern low in is formed on the surface of the metal plate 10 with only one die.
