Abstract:
To provide a thermal spray method for obtaining a compact thermal spray film with a low oxygen content by the HVOF method without excessively heating a substrate; and a thermal spray apparatus therefor.
A gas shroud is attached to an HVOF gun barrel. An inert gas is supplied from a circumferential slit into the inside space of the shroud so that metal particles sprayed by the gun and shielded from the air are accelerated and caused to collide with the surface of a substrate.
