Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method of manufacturing molds in low cost and in a short period by decreasing the man-hour for manufacturing a parting tool.
CONSTITUTION: A mold-manufacturing method comprises the steps of optically forming an article model by molds 7, 8 and optically forming a mold-forming parting tool 3. The parting tool 3 often has a complicated three-dimensional configuration. By the use of an optically forming system and forming the three dimensional configuration, a parting tool can be manufactured without almost necessitating manpower. On this occasion, if the model fitting surface of the parting tool 3 is optically formed in a reverse use of CAD data or the like of the model 1, there is further no need of manpower, and the model 1 and parting tool 3 can be manufactured so that they are precisely registered with each other, resulting in an improvement of the dimensional accuracy of the molds 7, 8.
