Abstract:
To provide an improved method for forming a multi-layer coating film by applying A first water base coating, a second water base coating, and a clear coating in turn.
In the method for forming the multi-layer coating film which is particularly suitable for the final coating of the outer panel of an automobile, the first water base coating is applied on a substrate, after the gel percentage of the formed coating film is adjusted to be at least 5 wt.%, the second water base coating is applied, after water in the formed coating film is evaporated, the clear coating is applied, and the obtained three-layer coating film is heated so that the three layers are cured simultaneously.
