To provide a method for forming a multilayer coating film that uses starch-based coating compositions derived from vegetable and can form a multilayer coating film excellent in finish property, pencil hardness, marring resistance, adhesiveness, alkali resistance, and solvent resistance and a multilayer coating film excellent in them.

The method for forming a multilayer coating film comprises; a step that forms a coating film composed of a starch-based coloring base coating compositions by coating the starch-based coloring base coating compositions containing a starch-based resin on a coated object; a step that forms a coating film composed of photocuring coating compositions (A) by coating a photocuring coating compositions (A) containing an unsaturated group-containing content starch-based resin (al) and a photopolymerization initiator (a2) on the coating film; and a step that cures the coating film by irradiating the coating film composed of photocuring coating compositions (A) with light.
