To provide a method of forming a panel member in which the forming of the panel member having an edge part which is high in appearance quality is made possible by suppressing the number of stages related to the forming of the panel member the edge part of which is seamed and also by easily forming a preliminarily bent part of a desired shape.
The method of forming the panel member 10 has a stage where a sheet member 22 is formed into a shape P of a formed article by applying drawing to the sheet member, a stage where an outer panel 14 having the shape P of the formed article is formed by cutting a portion O outside the formed article of the sheet member 22 and a stage where the edge part of the outer panel 14 including the cut tip face 14a is formed into a curled shape with a curling punch 42. The preliminarily bent part 14b is formed in the edge part of the outer panel 14 which is formed in the curled shape with the curling punch 42 and the preliminarily bent part 14b is formed in the stage where the drawing is applied.
