To provide a method for inexpensively producing, by press working, a component which has a shaft having a cross section except cylinder or rectangle on the edge of a flat plate.
The method for forming a plate material component with a shaft includes: cutting out a material having the portions corresponding to a flat plate part 1 and shaft part 2 from a flat plate (blank material) by punching out using a press die or other methods; and compression-molding, to make the shaft part, a rectangular sectional part corresponding to the shaft part by the half-moon dies facing each other or the dies facing each other for making a required shaft sectional shape, which are set in separate press dies or are set in the post process in the same progressive die.
