Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a polyalkynyl-substituted arene compound.SOLUTION: The method for preparing a polyalkynyl-substituted arene compound comprises: (a) reacting a polyhydroxy-substituted aromatic compound with a fluorosulfonating agent to form a poly(fluorosulfonate)-substituted aromatic compound; and (b) reacting the poly(fluorosulfonate)-substituted aromatic compound with an alkyne in the presence of a catalyst under conditions effective to couple the alkyne to the poly(fluorosulfonate)-substituted aromatic compound and form the polyalkynyl-substituted arene compound, wherein the catalyst comprises one or more group-10 atoms or a copper complex.SELECTED DRAWING: None
