To provide a method for forming a sprayed coating capable of preventing projection parts formed on a surface of the sprayed coating from dropping out in a honing process after a thermal spray process.
The method for forming a sprayed coating includes a projection part removal step 29 between a thermal spray step 27 of forming the sprayed coating by supplying a molten metal formed by melting wire onto a surface to be sprayed of an object to be sprayed, and a honing step 31 of applying honing to the surface of the sprayed coating. In the projection part removal step 29, the projection parts including a molten metal are removed without accompanying the dropout of the sprayed coating of the surrounding, the projection parts being formed projecting from the surface of the sprayed coating by contamination of rough particles generated in melting the wire in the thermal spray step 27.
