Abstract:

To provide a method for forming a glycosidic linkage which enables a control or three-dimensional control of a side reaction under mild conditions and is highly diastereoselective.

In the method for forming a glycosidic linkage, a reaction is effected in the presence of a glycosidic linkage forming catalyst containing azo compounds represented by the formula (R shows a lower alkyl group). And sugar halide may be allowed to react with unsaturated compounds in the presence of the catalyst.
