Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce scattering of the load characteristic of the whole of a supporter for diametrically supporting a monolithic catalyst carrier, by welding the opposite ends of a flat wire net to form the net into a cylinder, and corrugating the cylinder thereby forcibly engaging the welded parts, so that the load characteristic of the welded parts is lowered. CONSTITUTION:A wire net cylinder comprising stainless thin wires that are knitted is pressed into a flat shape, it is rolled once or twice, the ends thereof are welded integrally at 11. Then it is corrugated by the known roll corrugation apparatus of bulge corrugation apparatus thereby forcibly engaging the welded parts 11, so that the load characteristic of the welded parts 11 is lowered.
