PURPOSE: To provide a method for forming three-dimensional pattern of a paper material, capable of readily forming three-dimensional pattern on the paper material, having water resistance and capable of preventing deformation of formed pattern having unevenness over a long period.

CONSTITUTION: After a figure is drawn with colors 12 on the surface 10a of a paper material 10 capable of locally causing plastic deformation, uneven shape 14 corresponding to the figure is formed by a pressing tool or after the uneven shape 14 is formed by a pressing tool, a figure corresponding to the uneven shape is drawn with the colors 12 and a coating agent 16 is applied on the surface 10a on which at least figure is drawn to fix the colors and uneven shape.
