Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a through-hole in a dam body efficiently, while controlling vibration at the time of excavation.SOLUTION: A method for forming a though-hole 3 in an existing dam body 1 comprises: a process for forming a first space 6 of the through-hole 3 in the dam body 1 by excavating the dam body 1 with a free cross-section excavator 5 from the downstream side to the upstream side, leaving a prescribed unexcavated section 30 at the end of the dam body 1 on the upstream side; a process for forming a plurality of boreholes through the prescribed unexcavated section 30 of the dam body 1, continuously through the upstream side of the dam body 1 and the first space 6; a process for inserting a wire saw 11 through the plurality of boreholes; a process for dividing the prescribed unexcavated section 30 of the dam body 1 into a plurality of concrete blocks CB1 to CB16, using the wire saw 11; and a process for forming a second space 9 of the through-hole 3 at the end of the dam body 1 on the upstream side, by carrying out the concrete blocks CB1 to CB16 from the upstream side of the dam body 1.
