To provide a method for forming a vehicle wheel disk, by which a vehicle wheel is made lightweight and is increased in strength by forming a hat section so as to increase its thickness, and to provide the vehicle wheel.
A method for forming a vehicle wheel disk includes: a preliminary forming process for obtaining an intermediate material having a recessed section 2 in the center, and a flange section 3c in a radial direction outside from the recessed section, by drawing and forming a plate-like base material; a holding process for holding the flange section; a hub mounting part forming process for forming the bottom wall 2a of the recessed section to a predetermined hub mounting section 11; a hub mounting section restricting process for restricting the hub mounting section; and a hat section forming process for forming the hat section 12 so as to increase its thickness by relatively making the flange section held by the holding process and the hub mounting section close to each other in an axial direction.
