To provide a method for forming a washer by which product cost can drastically be reduced by reducing material cost and producing cost.

The method for forming the washer comprises: a first process of obtaining a bar material 3 having a prescribed length by cutting off a coil material 1 having a prescribed diameter into a prescribed size; a second process of obtaining an intermediate body 5 having a flat annular part 5a in the circumferential part by pressing the bar material 3 at a multi-steps in the axial direction in the hot-state and expanding in the radiating direction; and a third process of punching out a portion except the annular part 5a in the intermediate body 5 into the round-shape having a prescribed diameter.
