Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fusing and modifying steelmaking slag with which the effective fusing and modifying can be performed at a low cost and with a simple means to the steelmaking slag having low fluidity and the category of reutilization of the steelmaking slag can be enlarged.
SOLUTION: In the method for modifying the slag by adding or thermal-spraying a modifying agent into the low fluidity steelmaking slag held in a vessel, in one case or both cases of "before adding or before thermal-spraying the modifying agent", or "after adding or after thermal-spraying the modifying agent", after mechanically stirring the slag surface layer, the mixed layer of the slag and the modifying agent is heated and fused, and the obtained fused slag is discharged from the vessel and solidified. Further, as a means used together with the mechanical stirring or as a means to substitute for the mechanical stirring, a means for tilting the slag holding vessel can be adopted.
