Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the plating property of a high-Si steel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a steel sheet contg. ≥0.2wt.% Si is previously electroplated (at 5-70mg/m2) with ≥1 kind among Ni, Fe, Cu and Co, and the steel sheet is then heated at ≤700°C in an oxidizing atmosphere to form iron oxide on the surface (at 0.3-1.5g/m2 expressed in terms of Fe), reduced at 500-650°C and then galvanized. The galvanized steel sheet can be further alloyed. Consequently, the completely galvanized steel sheet and galvannealed steel sheet excellent in surface quality is produced.
