Abstract:
PURPOSE:To uniformly introduce functional groups such as ion exchange groups or hydrophilic groups on the surfaces of polymeric compound articles by a gaseous phase graft reaction. CONSTITUTION:A gaseous phase graft reaction device whose reactor 1 has a cage 12 receiving polymeric articles (e.g. films, sheets, porous membranes) therein and rotated about a horizontal shaft 11 is employed. A monomer 4 is charged in the bottom part of the reactor, and the cage 12 receiving the polymeric compound articles is rotated. Ionizing radiation is irradiated on the polymeric compound articles to produce radicals, and the monomer is graft- polymerized on the articles in a gaseous phase.
