Abstract:
To provide a biomass gasification method which comprises gasifying biomass with CO2 under milder reaction conditions to minimize the formation of CO2 from the biomass and to thereby efficiently form H2, CO, and CH4.
The biomass gasification method is one comprising gasifying biomass by using carbon dioxide and steam (or by using carbon dioxide and oxygen or using carbon dioxide, steam, and oxygen), wherein the reaction of the biomass with the carbon dioxide and the steam is performed in a reaction system at 850 to 1,200°C at atmospheric pressure.
