PURPOSE: To quickly generate a 2nd picture information in a screen expressing a character string including a character not dotted which is obtained by remov ing dots from a dot character from a 1st screen information in a screen expressing a character string including a dot character.
CONSTITUTION: A 3rd picture information Q3 in which pixels of a character string background level are substituted for pixels D of a dot level consecutive dots less than the scheduled number of dots on a 1st direction scanning line of a screen is generated from the 1st screen information Q1 and the 4th screen information Q4 in which pixels of the character string background level are substituted for pixels of the dot level consecutive dots less than the scheduled number of dots on a 2nd direction scanning line of the screen is generated from a 3rd screen information Q3. The 5th pixel Q5 in which pixels in the character string background level are substituted for all of pixels within a quardrangular area circumscribed to an area less than a scheduled size occupied by continued dot level pixels on the screen generated from a 4th screen information Q4 as the 2nd screen information Q2.
