Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate a noise component and to generate a sensitivity distribution correction curve sufficiently replying to steep change of sensitivity by evaluating smoothing image data at every block by an evaluation function, and repeating computation by decreasing block width when it exceeds a threshold value. CONSTITUTION:The smoothing image data Ssmg can be obtained by averaging image data Scrt for correction in a prescribed range in the periphery of each image element (i) corresponding to each image element (i) on a recording sheet arranged in the prescribed extending direction of a read sensor. The evaluation function DELTAk is found according to equation I at every block in which the image element (i) arranged in the prescribed direction is divided into M blocks. An absolute value ¦DELTAk¦ is compared with the threshold value Th, and the smoothing data Ssmg of the block (k) in which it is ¦DELTAk>Th¦ is found again by decreasing the prescribed range, and the function connected to the Ssmg is set as the sensitivity distribution correction curve. In such a way, it is possible to sufficiently eliminate the noise component, and to obtain the sensitivity distribution correction curve of a radiant image read sensor replying to even the steep change of the sensitivity.
