Title:
METHOD OF GRAPHITE SPHEROIDIZATION OF MOLTEN IRON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014237862
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which improves advantageously the yield of graphite spheroidization elements, e.g. Mg and Re, by guiding the cored wire effectively to a desired position in molten iron and dissolving, in carrying out graphite spheroidization of molten iron by using a cored wire.SOLUTION: A method of graphite spheroidization of molten iron comprises inserting a cored wire 16, from above, into an introduction pipe 52 which is composed of a fire-resistant or slightly soluble material and has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the cored wire 16, in a state where the introduction pipe 52 is put in molten iron 14 in a ladle 12 vertically to a specified depth (d) and supplying the cored wire 16 into the molten iron 14 by guiding the cored wire 16 from the lower end into the molten iron 14 and dissolving.
