Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method of grinding superabrasive grain workpiece.SOLUTION: The method of grinding a superabrasive grain workpiece comprises: a step of placing a bonded abrasive article 100 in contact with a workpiece 203 comprising a superabrasive grain material, where the bonded abrasive article comprises a bonded abrasive body 101 that is a body including abrasive grains contained in a bond material, and the superabrasive grain workpiece has an average Vickers hardness of at least about 1 GPa; and a step of removing the material from the superabrasive grain workpiece at an average material removal (MRR) rate of at least about 8 mm/sec, at an average specific grinding energy (GE) of about 350 J/mmor less for a centerless grinding operation.
