Abstract:
PURPOSE: To dynamically guide signals through respective nodes in the group of exchange nodes with minimum network resources. CONSTITUTION: Data packets are transmitted through a group 11 of nodes 12 to terminal units 18, 20 and 22. The respective packets include routing codes. When a certain node receives a packet, its routing code is investigated and is discriminated whether or not that node is the terminal node of this packet. Table look-up operation is performed, while defining the routing code as an index to a routing table. This table identifies a link 16 for guiding the packet from this node to the adjacent node. When it is determined that the node can be the terminal node of the packet, a channel identifier is evaluated and it is discriminated whether or not a service is applied to a party, to which the packet is directed, at present.
