Abstract:

PURPOSE: To execute T6 heat treatment for an Al alloy cast part with good productivity by small energy consumption by executing solution treatment in such a manner that it is rapidly heated to a temp. close to the eutectic point and is rapidly cooled at the time of subjecting the cast part of the Al alloy to T6 heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: An AN alloy of Al-Si series or the like is cast and is subjected to solution treatment in such a manner that it is rapidly heated to a temp. extremely close to the eutectic point and is directily subjected to rapid cooling by water. Successively, by executing aging treatment by an ordinary method, heat energy required for heating at the time of the solution treatment can be reduced and the solution treatment can be executed in an extremely short time, so that T6 heat treatment for the Al alloy cast part can economically be executed with excellent productivity.
