Title:
METHOD FOR HEATING GRAIN-ORIENTED SILICON STEEL SLAB
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3133868
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perfectly prevent the development of bulging defect at the time of heating a slab by making molten steel temp. the higher temp. range than the liquidus temp. by a specific temp. or higher, in a continuous casting process in a grain-oriented silicon steel.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of continuously casting the silicon steel slab containing ≥0.0025wt.% nitrogen in the condition of stirring the molten steel by electromagnetic motion, and successively, heating the slab at the surface temp. ≥1350°C with an electric heating furnace, the molten steel temp. in the continuous casting process is made to be the higher temp. range than the liquidus temp. by ≥25°C. In this way, even in the case of giving the electromagnetic molten steel stirring aiming the improvement of the magnetic characteristic, the development of the bulging defect at the time of heating the slab can perfectly be prevented, and this method can contribute to the stable production of the grain-oriented silicon steel sheet having good magnetic characteristic and surface outward appearance.
