Title:
METHOD FOR HEMMING METAL SHEET WORK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3452165
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a robot teaching time for adjusting rolling pressure of a roller in comparison with the conventional hemming method in which hemming is performed by utilizing rolling-press action of the roller of the tip part of a robot arm.
SOLUTION: The bent flange part 1a of a metal sheet work 1 is successively subjected to prehemming and main hemming while hitting by a press-curving surface 4e and a press-flat surface 4d of a hemming edge 4 which is continuously vertically moved. Shifting locus data and vertical moving stroke data of the hemming edge 4 are taught to the robot. That is, the positional data (the shifting locus data) of the flange part 1a on a metallic mold 3 are obtd. by moving the hemming edge 4 along the flange part 1a with the robot arm 6. Then, a zero positional data is found by bringing the hemming edge 4 into contact with the metallic mold 3 and the positional data (the vertical moving stroke data) apart from this zero position by a prescribed hemming thickness (t) is found.
