Abstract:
PURPOSE: To hot-roll high chromium stainless steel which is hard to produce surface scale so as not to generate burning on a roll.
CONSTITUTION: In hot rolling of stainless steel which is composed of rough rolling consisting of multistage pass and finish rolling consisting of multistage pass, the stainless steel is hot-rolled by controlling the temp. of a material on the inlet side to a finishing mill within the range of 900-1050°C and the temp. of the material on the outlet side of the finishing mill within the range of 800-950°C in the finish rolling and executing lubricated rolling using a lubricant containing iron hydroxide for at least three passes of the multistage pass in the finish rolling.
