Title:
METHOD OF HOT-WORKING STAINLESS STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58167725
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain fine uniform crystalline structure, by repeating the hot- working of austenitic or ferritic stainless steel twice or more times, and setting a heating temp. before the working on and after the second step at a specified temp.

CONSTITUTION: Hot-working is repeated twice or more times to austenitic or ferritic stainless steel having as-cast structure or the structure of coarse crystal grains near akin to it. In addition, a heating temp. before the working on and after the second step is set at the lowest value of the temp. at which wrought structure formed by the working at the just-preceding step can be uniformly recrystallyzed and made even in size throughout the entire position of the steel. After the steel is held at this set temp., it is more pref. cooled down to the lowest temp. at which the next-step working can be performed before the next- step working.
