Abstract:
To provide a method of hydrophilizing medical appliances which can conveniently provide appliances having excellent hydrophilicity, or water wettability.
The method comprises introducing plasma generated between electrodes under atmospheric pressure from the electrode portion to a jet nozzle portion by the use of a gas flow, causing the nozzle to rotate while jetting the gas flow obliquely from a jet hole offset to the center of the nozzle, activating the surface of a substrate for a medical appliance by irradiating the surface with the gas flow, and then bringing it into contact with a water-containing gas flow or water to hydrophilize the surface of the appliance.
