Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hydrophilizing an organic polymer, to provide the hydrophilic organic polymer obtained by the method, and to provide a molding article therefrom.
SOLUTION: The method for hydrophilizing the organic polymer is characterized by containing a non-polymerizing polar organic compound having a dipole moment of ≥3.5 in the organic polymer. The hydrophilic organic polymer obtained by the method, and the molding article therefrom are also disclosed. A further hydrophilic organic polymer having further improved hydrophilicity and a molding article therefrom are obtained by using an organic polymer obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable polar compound as the organic polymer.
