Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a pattern identifying method capable of surely converging learning, attaining pattern identification only by one learning and identifying that a pattern is unknown even when an unknown pattern which is not learned yet is inputted.
CONSTITUTION: Input vectors 11 to 13, 14 to 16, 17 to 18 are plotted in a two-dimensional input vector space as input patterns respectively belonging to identification(ID) classes A to C. An area 20 is formed by a supersphere setting up a half of a distance between the input vector 11 and the input vector 14 most close to the vector 11 in the ID class other than A as its radius and setting up its center to the vector 11 in the ID class A. Supersphere areas 21, 22 are similarly formed based upon the vectors 12, 13 and the OR result of the super- spheres in the ID class A becomes an ID area 24. The ID areas 25, 26 of the ID classes B, C are also learned by similar operation. After ending the learning of the ID areas, input data 1, 2 are obtained from the pattern to be identified and the input vector of the input pattern to be identified is obtained on the input vector space to classify respective areas.
