A combustion-assisting lamp of wax 40 which is sized and/or shaped to be capable of being melted by combustion heat produced when the impregnated wax component of at least half of the end of a core 31 is burned is used. The lamp of wax 40 is placed near the core of a recessed part at the upper end of a medium-diameter candle 30, and the core 31 is ignited to burn the impregnated wax component of the core 31. Also, the combustion assisting lamp of wax 40 is melted, sucked up, and impregnated into the core 31, during which the upper end portion of the medium-diameter candle 30 is melted to shift to normal combustion.
