Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the cetane number of a visbreaking gas oil to such a value that it directly enters the application fields of a gas oil by bringing the oil into contact with H2O2 in the presence of a carboxylic acid or into contact with a percarboxylic acid in the absence or presence of H2O2.
CONSTITUTION: A visbreaking oil is brought into contanct with H2O2 in the presence of formic, acetic, or propionic acid or is brought into contact with performic, peracetic, or perpropionic acid in the absence or presence of H2O2.
