CONSTITUTION: The joint face and the flange face of the flanges of the circulation pipe and the dip pipe of degassing RH for steel manufacture are furnished with spigot and socket, respectively. Fine powder of heat-resistant material is mixed and kneaded with fine powder of a resin or an oil as a binder to make soft paste, and is packaged with a thin sheet such as film of a vinyl resin, paper, cloth of silk, cotton, artificial material, etc. in the form of a string having the width and thickness to fit the size of the socket. The objective sealing material can be obtained by cutting the string to the length to fit the length of the socket.
