Abstract:

PURPOSE: To conveniently induction-heat a nonmetallic material without need for a large-scale and intricate heater.

CONSTITUTION: A ceramic tube 11 consisting of a nonmetallic material to be heated is covered with a heat-resistant nonmetallic cloth 12, the space between the surface of the cloth 12 and the tube 11 is filled with a high-permeability metal powder 13, and an induction-heating coil 14 to be supplied with a high-frequency power is wound on the powder to heat the powder. Consequently, the tube 11 is also heated, and a nonmetallic material such as wood is conveniently heated with no need for a large-scale heater.
