To provide a method for ink-jet printing imparting prints with high density on both surfaces of a fabric in a simple manner, free from blurring of ink, clear and excellent in fastness.

In the method comprising a step for ink-jet printing on the fabric and a step for fixing by heating a dye of the ink-jet printed fabric, the fixing step comprises a heating means heating to ≥100°C, a wetting medium having moisture content ≥20%, a water blocking means blocking liquid water but permeating water vapor and the ink-jet printed fabric, and imparts the moisture of the wetting medium as the water vapor to the ink-jet printed fabric by contacting these in the prescribed order and fixes the dye by steam-pressing.
