PURPOSE: To enable quick and easy attaching of a name plate and to automate the attaching of name plate, by directly inserting a name plate displaying a trade name, etc., into a soft object having indefinite shape, e.g., an edible meat such as chicken while suppressing the deformation of the insertion object around the insertion part of the name plate in the insertion of the name plate.

CONSTITUTION: A sagittal protrusion of a name plate B is inserted into a soft object 2 having indefinite shape by the following process. (1) The indefinite soft object 2 is pressed (with a face plate 3) at the part surrounding the insertion part of the name plate to effect the swelling of the insertion part (the swell 2a); (2) a knife 4 is thrust into the swollen insertion part 2a to form an incision; (3) the protrusion d, e, g of the name plate is inserted into the incision.
