Abstract:

To provide a method for inspecting collision load sensors for vehicles and capable of easily and reliably compensating for zero-point shifts due to temperature changes and degradations with the passage of time of an optical fiber sensor.

In the method for testing a leakage type optical fiber sensor positioned between a bumper reinforcement 7 and a load transmission plate 20 and extended in the width direction of a vehicle with the bumper reinforcement 7, a sensor assembly 100, a member to be tested, is held between a front bumper equivalent member 101 and a bumper reinforcement equivalent member 107. A load roller 123 is moved along the external surface of the front bumper equivalent member 101 in its longitudinal direction to continuously sample output of the optical fiber sensor. It is thereby possible to easily and continuously sample a large items of data.
