Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an installation for recovery of converter dust which can separate impurities from copper contained in converter dust, independently of variation of impurity and copper qualities of the converter dust.SOLUTION: In an electrical dust precipitator 3, one or more recovery regions are determined in the flow direction of exhaust gas. In recovering converter dust collected in individual recovery regions, the metal quality distribution is measured repeatedly, and the numbers of recovery regions and/or the boundary positions are modified on the basis of the measurements. Regions high in impurity quality and regions high in copper quality can be determined according to the variation of the impurity and copper qualities, enabling efficient separation of impurities from copper contained in converter dust.
