Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method and an instrument to clean to remove undesired components in the blood component.
CONSTITUTION: This method for cleaning recovered blood includes a process to separate the blood component having higher concentration from the blood component having low concentration in a rotting centrifugal bowl 20. The separated blood component is cleaned by cleaning solution to remove free-hemoglobin (Hgb), anti-coagulant, cytoplasmic pieces and other undersired factors. The precedingly separated blood component is re-suspended to release other undesired factors trapped within the free-Hgb and the red blood cell layer 64 by braking the rotation of the centrifugal bowl 20. The blood component having the high concentration is subsequently re-separated from the blood component having the low concentration in the centrifugal bowl 29 and the re-separated blood component is cleaned again by the eleauing solution to remove the free-Hgb and other undesired factors therefrom.
