Title:
METHOD OF INTERFERON PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56167624
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: The animal cells that are grown on a microcarrier having chemical groups charged positively are treated with a specific solution to produce high units of interferone used as antiviral or antitumor.

CONSTITUTION: The animal cells such as human normal diloid cells are grown on a microcarrier having chemical groups charged positively such as a crosslinked dextran bearing diethylaminoethyl groups are treated with an interferon inducer such as an RNA-dupllex, e.g., poly (I) or poly (C). At this time, the microcarrier on which the cells stick and grow is treated with an aqueous solution of a water- soluble high polymer charged negatively such as carboxymethyl cellulose or dextran sulfate, before or when the interferon inducer is added, to increase the activity of the interferon inducer and to produce high-unit interferon.
