To provide a method for quickly isolating multiple-drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MDRP) without causing an omission in picking-up, and to provide a selective culture medium therefor.
Provided are the method for isolating MDRP, comprising dissolving 35.8 g of a NAC agar culture medium (dried powder), 16 mg of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride, and 32 mg of amikacin in 1,000 mL of water, boiling the solution, cooling the boiled solution to 60C, adding 0.032 g of an imipenem cilastatin sodium equivalent weight mixture to make an agar plate culture medium, smearing the culture medium with a sample such as a patient specimen, culturing it at a constant temperature of 361C for 24 hours, and checking the presence or absence of a yellow to yellowish green colony on the culture medium; and the selective culture medium.
